Cotton price was moved down on the back of limited demand from domestic mills. Kapas or raw cotton too declined marginally as demand from ginners was quite low.
According to Rajkot based cotton broker, at this time export demand was very nominal, with this domestic mills also not buying heavily so that price of cotton coming down. It may decline further in this week.
Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was traded weak by Rs. 200 to Rs. 32,500-32,800 per candy of 356 kg. Old cotton was quoted Rs. 28,000-32,000 per candy. About 18,000 bales of cotton arrived in Gujarat and 60,000 bales arrived in India. Kapas was declined by Rs. 5 to Rs. 790-820 in Saurashtra. Gin delivery kapas was quoted Rs. 815-825 per 20 kg in Rajkot. Cotton seed was nominally decreased Rs. 3 to Rs. 355-370 per 20 kg. (Source: The Hindu Businessline)
